Coffee Confessions

Confession #1
I am afraid of my sewing machine.  There, I said it.  I bought it last year and I haven't used it yet.  I took it out of the box, looked at all the pieces, read through the little booklet, and into the closet it went.  I feel rather awful about this and in my mind I am determined to remedy the situation...it just hasn't happened yet.
Confession #2
I "baby talk" to animals, but never to babies.  There may be something weird about this.
Confession #3
I am more than a little addicted to Craftgawker.
Confession #4
I chatter incessantly when I have Red Bull.  So much so that my coworker has informed me I am not allowed to have it when we are sitting in the same office.
Confession #5-I can easily spend an hour on catsinsinks.com
Confessions #6-I cant catch things very well.  Even a small toss at a short distance.  I drop things.  It's bad.

oh Claire, i hope you can find the courage to bust out your sewing machine soon. There are just too many cool things you can do. And really, besides knowing how to thread the machine, you really only need to know how to straight stitch and zig-zag.
Thanks for visiting She's Crafty!
Hoping you have a great week!

Thank you! I will have to soon because Hubs and I decided to make our Halloween costumes this year. Now to clear the table of the 4 other projects I'm working on... :)

OH yes! You must dust off that sewing machine! It is a bit intimidating at first, but you will get the hang of it quick.

Find a fun apron pattern online (there are tons of cute free ones) and start with that. They're super easy, all straight lines and really good practice.

You'll learn as you go. When I first started I had no idea which foot did what, which stitch did what. You don't need to know all of that. Patterns will tell you which stitch to use and which foot to use. If you're not sure which one they're talking about, google it. You'll learn them all as you go.

Good luck!

All this talk is getting me motivated! I do need a new cute apron :) I know I can do straight lines and I love free things so that sounds like a great plan. Thanks for the ideas-and thanks for hosting the hop!
